Dear friends of Illescas,

how are you? I am students of a Primary School called Comboni College Khartoum. We usually say CCK.
I am in the sixth year and I have 50 classmates in my classroom. Some of us come from South Sudan a country from where we had to flee away because of a Civil War. My mother took us to this country called Sudan.

Sudan is very different from mine. In South Sudan we have forests, we speak English and Dinka and most people are Christians. Here in Sudan there are no forests. You just see trees along the Nile River because we are surrounded by the desert. Most people are Muslims.

i like CCK because here we live together South Sudnaese, Sudanese and Eritrean students and it's doesn´t mind if you are Christian or Muslim. We study and play together. Just at the class of religion we divide into two groups. Our Muslim classmates have a Muslim teacher and we have a Christian one. Then we come back together.

When we play and study I forget who is Christian or Muslim. I see a friend. By the way, my best friends are Anthony and Mohammed Idris. We all like football a lot! as soon as the bell rings we run to play football.

We live in the same area, in the outskirts of Omdurman, in the desert. Every day we take a bus that takes us to the school. We wake up at 6.00 am and then we go to the bus. The school starts at 8.00 am.

I wish you happy and merry Christmas!

John Sabit

Nosotros les hemos mandado esta carta en agradecimiento, felicitándoles la Navidad y compartiendo con ellos como vivimos la Navidad en España:

Dear friends from CCK:
We deeply appreciate your toughtful letter, John. Now we all know a little bit more about your lives and daily routines in Sudan. It is amazing you have the desert around! Must be very different from our location.
Our school is in Illescas, which is located in Toledo. Most of our students live near this village, it means they can walk for five-ten minutes to school easily. At school we share the same hobbies like playing football with our friends as soon as ring bell sounds!
Christmas time is already here, and we want to share the most important thing for the Christians: Jesus is born and comes to you and our families.Open your hearts to let him come in!
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
